About Us

Founded in 1991, JUSTUSarts was developed through a master apprentice program in the state of Illinois. We combine the traditional art of storytelling with interactive components to engage youth, teach language arts, reach out to families, and introduce students to poetry, spoken word, and drama.

About Oba William King

Our founder, Oba William King, has produced, directed, and performed in countless presentations and educational workshop designed to introduce students to the power of the spoken word and the magic of literature. Oba is an innovative, energetic, professional, and dedicated artist who feels called to his work. During the past five years, his programs have had lasting, positive effects on school age youth as well as their parents and community members. His interactive performances, storytelling presentations, drama workshops, and educational lectures celebrate diversity, involving participants in a stimulating variety of self-image and self-esteem building activities.
